Remote Working - Beware of Email Phishing!
Working from home is a strategy often spoken about but not practiced. The Coronavirus has shocked many firms and forced them into a plan for which they were unprepared.
Some light tips to keep in mind are below:
Users:
Phishing is a global email strategy used to trick users into selecting links on the email message.
There are two types of Phishing strategies:
Spear Phishing - When the hacker targets an email to a specific person or job title.
Phishing - A global send, not to target a specific person.
Do not click on any email that is suspicious and/or contains the following:
Dates are incorrect.
Gaps and spaces in the subject or in the body of the email.
Look for misspellings.
Companies:
Ensure Data Loss Prevention Tools are prevalent.
Have Security Awareness training for users.
Measure the effectiveness of the Security Awareness training!
